In SRC We manufacture a wide variety of temperature sensors, among which are the industrial thermocouples. The thermocouple is a temperature sensor made up of two different metals, joined at one end that is sensitive to temperature changes.

There are different types of industrial thermocouples, depending on the combination of metals, and you should know when and how to use them to take advantage of their features in your industry.

Types of industrial thermocouples

Although there are many different types of thermocouples, the most common in industrial use are the K type thermocouple and J.  

As we have indicated, they are models composed of a positive and negative conductor that generate a signal in MV which will translate a control device as a regulator either PLC

Each of these models are applied to different temperature ranges and processes, the thermocouple being “J type"the most used for the plastic industry (between 0 and 400ºC) and the thermocouple"type K” for higher temperature general industrial processes (between 400 and 1100ºC)

Thanks to the precision and quality of the elements that we use for the production of these thermocouples, the exact temperature can be known with hardly any errors.

Bayonet thermocouples for plastic industry

Suitable for the plastics industry, in addition to other applications, they are supplied with a 200mm spring which has an adjustable bayonet adaptor. In this catalog you will find the standard models aimed at the plastics industry.

jacketed thermocouples

Semi-rigid thermocouples with stainless steel sheath in diameters from 0.5 to 8 mm. They can be constructed with a ground connection or insulated and can be deformed to adapt them to a particular application without losing performance. They are ideal for any application from simple temperature measurements to the most difficult conditions. temperature ranges from -50 to 1150ºC

Color code for thermocouples

The color code of the thermocouples will indicate the type of thermocouple it is since they have different regulations. (DIN, IEC, ANSI). SRC uses the IEC (international) standards in its products, being able to adapt to the needs of our customers.
